Will Sylvester Stallone Still Have A Death Wish Or Is The Project Abandoned Forever?

picture 1

For those of you who haven't noticed, ever since "Rocky Balboa" was first announced I have been an avid supporter of the movie, and have highly anticipated it's opening.

Now this weekend, the film opens in the States, and Sylvester Stallone himself has been taking part in, what I believe to be the best promotional marketing tool the internet has ever seen, over at AICN.

For the last 20 days Stallone has been answering (extremely honestly, and very often humorously) 10 questions a day from around the world and been responding to comments made about his answers.

The final round was posted yesterday, however in Round 19 Stallone posed his own question to the talkbackers themselves about a proposed remake of the classic Charles Bronson vigilante story "Deathwish". Here's exactly what he asked the sites viewers:

"I really enjoyed doing this Q&A and I plan on doing it again. First, I’d like to get your feedback on the idea of remaking DEATHWISH with a slightly different slant. Instead of the Charles Bronson character being an architect; my version would have him as a very good cop who had incredible success without ever using his gun. So when the attack on his family happens, he’s really thrown into a moral dilemma in proceeding to carry out his revenge."

The talkbackers seem to mostly be advising Sly against the remake at the moment, or at least not having the central character be a cop in it.

After just reading Round 20, I notice that Stallone has said he has read people's criticisms and decided to no longer pursue the project. I think Stallone should realise however that if he had asked some of these people whether he should make "Rocky VI" a few years ago, most people would have laughed at the idea, so I don't think he should abandon it totally.

I myself, for instance, think that after "Rambo IV", this could be a great project for Stallone to continue his comeback with.

Join us in the forum to discuss whether this could have been another good move for Sly!

Snakes On A Plane Snakes On A Plane

So finally, after all the hype, and the Internet marketing machine has done its work, the cult film “Snakes on a Plane” has finally landed. The question is, was it worth all the hype? Well, let’s put it this way. “Snakes on a Plane” is one of the few films this summer that made me genuinely laugh out loud, and gave me my moneys worth. To compare it with another film I saw this Summer, such as “Superman Returns”, that film didn’t live up to it’s title despite its much higher budget, but this movi ...
