Peter Jackson is now confirmed to be producing a remake of classic movie "The Dam Busters", according to The BBC.

Christian Rivers, who was responsible for animation on Peter Jackson´s "King Kong" will take the directors chair.

Jackson revealed he plans to make sure this remake is as authentic as possible, and is close to the spirit of the original. He also revealed that he has been trying to get rights to the remake for years, and that this new version of the film is set to give us more information about the mission itself, which wasn´t seen in the original film as it was classified as top secret at the time.

I think this could be one of the better remakes, and Jackson´s choice of director for this movie tells me that visually speaking this could be a very visceral picture in terms of in flight sequences. I also like the fact that this movie will be more factual than the previous version given the new information available that is now declassified.
