Johnny Depp has signed on to play the Victorian Demon Barber of Fleet Street in the upcoming movie "Sweeny Todd".
He will be directed by regular collaborator Tim Burton, in a production which is set to be produced by DreamWorks, distributed domestically by Paramount, and distributed internationally by Warner Bros.
The main story sees a barber wrongly imprisoned, and when he is released, seeking revenge against those who sentenced him.
