According to Dark Horizons Brad Pitt has joined the cast of "Sparrow", an upcoming science fiction epic based on a classic novel.

The plot revolves around a Jesuit priest who joins a crew into space to investigate a signal the human race receives from an alien intelligence. After arriving on an alien planet, the clergyman and crew make contact with an alien race. However all does not go to plan and they accidentally fuel a war between the alien race they have made contact with and another one they didn´t know existed.

This sounds like it could be one of the more interesting science fiction films in the works.
