Lots of rumours have been floating around of late as to who the leading lady in upcoming James Bond flick "Casino Royale" is going to be. It appears that Dark Horizons is suggesting that Rose Byrne is the strongest contendor for the role at the moment.

Meanwhile Digital Spy has posted a story which claims other British tabloids have suggested that Thandie Newton is in fact the producers favourite.

Up until now Byrne has mostly taken supporting roles in blockbusters such as "Attack of the Clones" and "Troy", and this would probably be a breakthrough role for her. Newton on the other hand starred alngside superspy Tom Cruise in the rather lacklustre "Mission Impossible II" a few years back.

Regular readers of this site will know how disillusioned we are with the Bond series as a whole round here. If Bryne or Newton get the part, good luck to them, however we can´t see this film reinventing the franchise as much as the film makers are reporting it will.
