Keith Robinson has been set to play the composer C.C., brother of the pivotal character of Effie, in "Dreamgirls".

The project will start filming in January for DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures.

Set in the late 60´s and early 70´s, the film follows the rise of a trio of women who have formed a promising girl group called The Dreamettes. Effie (Jennifer Hudson), Deena (Beyonce Knowles) and Lorrell (Anika Noni Rose) are discovered by an ambitious manager named Curtis Taylor, Jr. (Jamie Foxx), who offers them the opportunity of a lifetime. He offers them the chance to become the back-up singers for headliner James "Thunder" Early (Eddie Murphy). They soon realize that the cost of fame and fortune may be higher than they ever imagined.

Bill Condon is directing the feature using a screenplay he adapted from the stage musical´s original book by Tom Eyen.
