Child star Dakota Fanning is to voice the lead role in the upcoming adaptation of hit novel "Coraline".

The film features a child entering an alternate reality, where everything is slightly different than this reality, with a few disturbing results.

The film is being supervised by Henry Selick, most famous for stop motion animation flicks "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "James and the Giant Peach".

I have faith that Selick will make this somewhat dark story even more interesting than it sounds on paper. As for Fanning, she is the child star of the moment, so I guess it fits that she voices this flick.
